This is really old news. Youtube is full of videos on the subject complete with interviews with agricultors. The clasification is "conspiracy" but it is the simple truth. When I was living in Holland as a young boy we took out the tulip bulbs by September and put them back early in the spring. They just multiplied every year. Nowadays there are no selfreplicating bulbs anymore.
Now, Walmart isn't benevolently looking after their customers' wellbeing. In their infinite dumbness they only just now found out that hauling goods only 5 miles rather than 50 is good for their bottomline.
Maybe it's time for governments to break up those dangerous "giant corporations" as they did with the communications giants last century.
But then, in a country where lobbying politicians is an accepted and flourishing business, a legislator's interpretation of justice is heavily influenced by the amount on the money and perks they receive from "giant corporations".
