DO we know why the Agarikon mushroom has become extinct in the first place?

Mr. Stamets' passion for implementing mycelium-based solutions to man-made environmental challenges and his effectiveness in establishing evidence-based track records for his ideas are inspiring, to say the least. His approach is reminiscent of the principles inherent in the integrated pest management approach to farming. By harnessing nature's existing resources to counteract nature- and/or human-sourced distortions in natural processes, one may obtain a solution that re-harmonizes specific aspects of the humanity/nature relationship (e.g., in agriculture). This approach may also mitigate unintended side-effects so often attendant in the application of synthetic materials/strategies to these sorts of challenges. Brilliant!

Please present more articles with this theme; perhaps devote an ongoing column to developments in this field. Making the general public and policy makers aware of these sorts of solutions surely improves the chances that the US and other industrialized societies will recognize that relatively low-cost, politically feasible and easily implemented solutions to some of our worst environmental problems are right at hand.
